Story

We met in Mannheim in September 2010, during our first week at university — two students in a campus café who noticed each other instantly (call it chemistry, call it love at first sight?). It still took more than a year before we finally got together and, on 16.02.2012, we officially became a couple — a date that Theresa “declared” so Carlo wouldn’t forget it.
From there on, we became true experts in long-distance relationships.
Paris–Lyon (easy), Frankfurt–Stuttgart (still easy), London–Stuttgart (not so easy anymore) and London, Ontario vs. Yangon (…definitely not easy). But we learned that distance really matters very little when a person truly matters a lot.
We met as teenagers, watched each other grow up, started our careers in different places and, despite everything, always found our way back to each other. We grew into adults together — and became parents together too.
And then came the proposal. Carlo finally got down on “the good old knee” two years after Sophie was born, at the perfect moment: Theresa was very pregnant with baby number two and, strategically, not exactly in the best position to run away. Under these circumstances, Carlo was fairly sure she would say yes (or at least that she wouldn’t say no).

We celebrated our civil wedding on 2 December 2023 with our families — and against all expectations (yes, we know what some of you were thinking!), we are now truly looking forward to celebrating our love with our friends as well.
